Every car wash has three main cycles. There is the wash cycle, the wax cycle, and the dry cycle. Washing removes the filth that we have acquired with everyday driving. Once cleansed, the wax cycle will help to preserve this cleaning, preventing the same filth from clinging onto our car. Finally, the dry cycle returns our car to rejoin others, looking as pristine and regenerated as it originally looked when it was brand new. There is a reason these cycles have proven to be so effective to care for our cars. Every Christian believer experiences a similar cleansing when they accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.
1 Corinthians 6:11 (NASB)
Only through the regenerating power of the Holy Spirit, can we be washed clean of our sins. We are sanctified and made holy, set apart to do God’s work, so that the world will not cling to us in its former manner. We are justified and made right, sent back into the world in the image of Jesus Christ, how God created us to be. We are completely clean, worthy to serve Him. Why do we do this? We live our lives to show others the new life we have received from Him so that they may also glorify God.
Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 5:16 (NASB)
Washed, sanctified, and justified. We are redeemed and washed by the blood of Jesus Christ to glorify God!
Amen!
Love and trust in the Lord; seek His will in your life.
